Having first met the actor/director Ben Manning at university more years ago than I care to mention, I was delighted to help him out on his first short film.
We Don’t Say Goodbye is a small-scale, love story drama, that plays with the meaning of time and immortality.
It came at a great time for me as my music had been moving in a particular direction but I hadn’t had a really good opportunity to try the style out in anger. I was writing more and more for piano and solo strings, backed with atmospheric and dynamic synths, and We Don’t Say Goodbye was the perfect chance to write this way to picture.
Working with Ben is always a pleasure and there’ll many more collaborations in the future. In fact, we’re constantly meeting up to work out newer, more ambitious film ideas.
